Korea-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry Supports Quake-Stricken Kermanshah People

TEHRAN, October 29 (IRCS) _ The Korea-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry offered a humanitarian consignment to the quake-affected people of Kermanshah through the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS).

 

TEHRAN, October 29 (IRCS) _ The Korea-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry offered a humanitarian consignment to the quake-affected people of Kermanshah through the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS).

The donated supplies included 38 different health items, including all types of shampoos, detergent, washing liquid, soap, all types of face moisturizers, and all kinds of women's hygienic supplies (approximately €387,000) which was delivered by six containers to the Relief and Rescue Organization.

Chairman of the Korea-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suk Hun, Yoon first met with Dr. Davood Bagheri, IRCS Under-Secretary General of International Affairs and International Humanitarian Law, at Red Crescent headquarters in Tehran on Sunday, October 28, and then met with Morteza Salimi, head of the IRCS Relief and Rescue Organization.

During the meetings, the officials expressed optimism about expanding cooperation between IRCS and Korea-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the near future.

IRCS authorities expressed appreciation for the humanitarian view of the Korea-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Referring to the deep historical links between Iran and South Korea, Yoon said: “During oil crisis, Iran helped us very much and was beside the Korean people as far as one of the most famous streets in South Korea is named Tehran.”

He also added that the Korea-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry was ready to help the Iranian Red Crescent Society in other areas.

Given the upcoming anniversary of the 7.3 magnitude earthquake of Kermanshah, IRCS plans to distribute this donated consignment among the quake-affected people to mark the devastating earthquake.

Also, a Letter of Intent was signed by Mr. Bagheri and Mr. Yoon on behalf of their respective organizations to continue previous agreements.

The document is aimed at bolstering cooperation between the IRCS and the Korea-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry and covers issues related to emergency preparedness and response.
